iBRoad welcomes the European Commission’s intention to becoming the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050, as unveiled through the European Green Deal. It is iBRoad’s common understanding that the critical challenges of our time require such urgent, targeted and ambitious measures. Among these, the buildings sector, and in particular existing buildings, represents an important opportunity for recovery and development towards a sustainable, climate neutral and socially just future for all European citizens.
The Building Renovation Passport in Renovate Europe's Position Paper
The partners of the Renovate Europe Campaign include the individual Building Renovation Passport as one of the ten principles recommended for all future deep energy renovation programmes in their Position Paper on Making the EU Renovation Wave a Success.

European Green Deal should focus beyond the corona darkness
As writes Oliver Rapf from the Buildings Performance Institute Europe, COVID-19 is particularly dangerous for people with underlying medical conditions, including a history of respiratory problems. These problems are often caused, if not worsened, by a poor indoor environment in buildings. It is only logical that Europe’s Green Recovery Programme should provide a strong investment support of building renovation.

COVID-19 Guidance by REHVA experts
As a response to the coronavirus pandemic, REHVA experts drafted a guidance document on how to operate and use building services in areas with a coronavirus outbreak to prevent the spread of COVID-19 depending on HVAC or plumbing systems related factors.
This REHVA document considers the best available evidence and knowledge to date, utilising an ongoing Dutch literature review elaborated by dr. Francesco Franchimon, complemented by international REHVA experts as a joint effort. Read the guidance document here.
